Home Energy Audit
Beginning at $499
Book a BPI-certified Building Analyst Professional to come to your home and conduct an official Home Energy Audit. A certified, un-biased Home Energy Audit should be the first step taken before any home energy efficiency improvements are considered. During this audit, we will determine the efficiency of your home and then outline the most effective methods of improvement. Reduce your power and heating bills, make your home safer and more comfortable, and reduce your carbon footprint with valuable data generated by a Home Energy Audit. This report will be recognized by the US Department of Energy and is eligible for a $150 Federal tax credit.
Insulation and Air Sealing Work

Improving your home’s insulation and air sealing is one of the most effective ways to both increase occupant comfort and safety, as well as improve energy efficiency. By using an advanced blower-door system and Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera during the home energy audit, we can determine exactly where air is leaking into and out of your home. We will then create and implement a plan to improve the insulation and air sealing in your home, in accordance with your needs and your budget. Blower Door Testing

Whether you are a builder, an insulation and air sealing contractor, a discerning home-owner, a power company or a real estate agent, there are many cases where clients will need stand-alone blower-door tests performed. Blower door tests are required for any new construction in the city of Portland, and are also required before and after any insulation work is done, for it to be eligible for Federal and state tax credits and incentives through Efficiency Maine. Sustainability Maine uses only the finest RetroTec Blower Door equipment and FLIR Thermal Imaging Cameras to give you quality data that you can depend on.
Dryer Vent Cleaning

In our experience as home energy auditors, one of the most commonly needed services to reduce unnecessary fire risks and energy consumption is a good dryer vent cleaning. This process takes about one to two hours, and we’ll clean up the mess when we’re done. Most building professionals recommend that this is completed every 1-2 years.
